Thinking about Europe?

If you’ve been dreaming about travelling to Europe but feel unsure about what kind of trip to plan, you’re not alone. Europe can feel overwhelming. There are so many different countries, cities and cultures to experience.

That’s exactly why a cruise can be such a wonderful first step.

Most Mediterranean itineraries include four or more countries, giving you the chance to “sample” destinations, almost like a tasting menu. You might fall in love with Italy, feel drawn to Greece, or discover that Spain completely steals your heart. And then? You can always go back and explore that country more deeply on a future, land-based trip.

Another major benefit?

You only need to unpack one time. No dragging suitcases through train stations every few days. Your hotel travels with you, all of your meals are taken care of, and you wake up in a new destination almost every morning.

Ocean Cruises: Why Smaller Ships Are Better

If an ocean cruise appeals to you, I almost always recommend smaller ships for Europe.

Why?

     - Fewer crowds

     - More intimate atmosphere

     - Better service

     - Access to smaller ports that big ships simply can’t reach

For example, you’ll never see a mega-ship docked in Venice. Instead, you will notice smaller, elegant ships right in the heart of the city.

Many smaller ships tend to stay longer in port; some even overnight. That means you’ll have more time to explore the area, enjoy dinner in the destination, and truly experience the culture. Not rushing back onboard with thousands of other passengers at 5pm, all while standing in long lines.

Most families tend to choose larger ships because they offer more kid-focused entertainment. While some smaller ships do allow children, the overall result of choosing against a large-scale cruise is a calmer, more refined onboard experience.

Adriana’s Tip:

If you love the idea of a more adult-focused experience, look at cruise lines like:

     - Oceania

     - Azamara

     - Seabourn

River Cruises: Intimate, Immersive, Unforgettable

Another beautiful way to experience Europe is through river cruises.

Most river ships carry less than 200 guests, leading to a personal, boutique experience.

There’s an old saying I love:

Oceans take you to destinations. Rivers take you through them.

River cruising immerses you in the heart of Europe; charming villages, historic towns, vineyard regions, and places you’d never reach on a big ship. You’re not just visiting Europe. You’re living in it.

Most river cruises include:

     - Daily guided tours

     - Cultural experiences

     - Local cuisine inspired by each region

     - Wine tastings, markets, and authentic moments you’ll remember forever

Happy travels,
