Will AI replace travel advisors?

We all know AI is here… and it’s here to stay. Unfortunately, some jobs can and will be replaced.

I’ll be honest: when I first saw how many people were starting to use AI for planning trips, even I thought… “Uh oh, what does this mean for travel advisors like me?”

But after a lot of reflection (and some great conversations with industry mentors), here’s what I know for certain:

What AI Can’t Do (But I Can 😉)

💌 Personal touches: AI won’t email your resort to let them know you’re celebrating a milestone anniversary—or remind them it’s your child’s birthday so they can decorate the room with balloons. 🎈

📞 Advocacy when things go wrong: AI won’t stay on hold for hours to rebook your flights when they’re canceled. It won’t negotiate with airlines for refunds or with hotels for upgrades. I will.

🔍 Persistence: AI won’t keep checking when that perfect room category is sold out. I’ve done it countless times, refreshing and calling until it opened up.

🤝 Relationships: AI doesn’t have connections with BDMs, hotel managers, and cruise reps who know me by name and want to go above and beyond for my clients. 🌟

✈️ Anticipating needs: Before you’ve even thought about it, I’ve pre-selected your favourite seats on the plane. I’ve emailed ahead for a room closer to the elevator for mobility needs—or farther away for clients who love peace and quiet.

💳 Little extras you wouldn’t think of: I can’t count how many times I’ve asked a client if they had a frequent flyer number with a specific airline. If they didn’t, I encouraged them to sign up because sometimes, that simple step means they get free Wi-Fi on their flight. 📶

💘 Matchmaking skills: At the end of the day, I’m a travel matchmaker. I don’t just suggest a list of hotels, I listen, I learn your style, and I carefully pair you with the right resort, cruise, or itinerary. It’s not about what looks best on paper… it’s about what feels right for you💎

In Conclusion

AI is a tool… it’s smart, it’s fast, and it has its place. But travel is not just a transaction. Travel is personal. Travel is emotional. Travel is an investment in something far more valuable than things: it’s an investment in memories. 💭✨

Vacations are where you watch your kids see the ocean for the first time 🌊, where you toast to your 25th anniversary under the stars ✨, where you finally cross that bucket-list destination off your dream board. ✅ Those moments are priceless—and they deserve to be handled with care.

👉 AI might suggest where to go. I’ll make sure you feel at home when you get there.

👉 AI might compare prices. I’ll create a seamless itinerary so all you have to do is show up and enjoy.

👉 AI might offer convenience. I’ll give you peace of mind. 💛

Because at the end of the day, I’m not just booking trips—I’m matchmaking experiences. 💘 I’m protecting your investment. And I’m helping you collect memories you’ll cherish forever. That’s something no algorithm can ever replace. 🌍✨

A Story We All Know Too Well…

Think about the last time you called a company for help and got stuck talking to an automated voice. 🤦‍♀️ You’re repeating “Agent! Human! Customer service!” until you’re blue in the face… only for the system to hang up on you.

That’s AI at its worst—frustrating, impersonal, and completely detached from what you actually need.

Now, imagine your dream trip being handled the same way. That’s not the experience you deserve. 🚫🌍
